The homeowners of this Seattle property had a primary bathroom that felt cramped and outdated. Their main goal was to create a more spacious and modern bathroom, with a particular focus on expanding the small, enclosed shower. They also desired more counter space and storage, as the existing single-sink vanity was insufficient for their needs. The challenge was to achieve this transformation within the existing footprint of the bathroom, which required a clever redesign and the removal of a non-load-bearing wall to open up the shower area. The result is a stunning, modern primary bathroom that feels significantly larger and more functional, showcasing Grand Building Construction’s ability to maximize space and deliver on the client’s vision.

The transformation began with the strategic removal of a wall that allowed for a much larger, walk-in shower with a custom tile niche for storage. A new double-sink vanity was installed, complete with a beautiful quartz countertop and an additional base cabinet, providing ample counter space and storage. The old, worn-out fixtures were replaced with modern, matte black hardware, and new, energy-efficient LED lighting was installed to brighten the space. The new layout not only improves the functionality of the bathroom but also creates a more luxurious and spa-like atmosphere, a welcome retreat for the homeowners. • Vanity: Custom-built double sink vanity with shaker-style cabinets in a deep navy blue finish.
• Countertops: Calacatta Laza quartz countertops with subtle grey veining.
• Sinks: Undermount rectangular ceramic sinks by Kohler.
• Faucets: Wall-mounted matte black faucets by Delta.
• Shower Tile: 12″x24″ large format porcelain tile in a natural stone look for the shower walls and a matching mosaic tile for the shower floor.
• Shower Fixtures: Matte black rain shower head and handheld sprayer by Moen.
• Flooring: Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) in a light oak finish, providing a waterproof and durable surface.
• Lighting: Recessed LED ceiling lights and a modern vanity light fixture with Edison bulbs.
• Hardware: Matte black cabinet pulls and knobs by Amerock.
• Paint: “Chantilly Lace” by Benjamin Moore on the walls for a bright and clean look.

Our Process

3. Plumbing & Electrical Rough-in: Our licensed plumbers and electricians then completed the rough-in for the new double vanity, shower fixtures, and lighting, ensuring everything was up to code and ready for inspection.
4. Installation & Finishes: After the rough-in inspections were passed, we proceeded with the installation of the new tile, vanity, countertops, and fixtures. Our skilled craftsmen paid close attention to every detail, ensuring a high-quality finish.
5. Final Walkthrough & Handover: Upon completion, we conducted a final walkthrough with the homeowners to ensure their complete satisfaction. We then handed over their beautiful new bathroom, ready for them to enjoy.

Permitting & Code Compliance

For this Seattle primary bathroom remodel, building, plumbing, and electrical permits were required due to the removal of a wall, relocation of plumbing for the expanded shower and double vanity, and the addition of new lighting.
